Marina Operations Associate
We are seeking an energetic, responsible, and reliable individual to join our team as a Marina Operations Associate at Gordon Bay on Lake Muskoka. This seasonal, hybrid role is primarily focused on supporting the service department through customer interaction, coordination, and administrative support, while also assisting the waterfront team as needed.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, staying organized in a fast-paced environment, and gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of marina operations.
The season runs from late April through November, with potential for extended employment into the fall for the right candidate. Weekend and holiday availability is required during peak summer months.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greet, communicate, and assist customers with all aspects of their marina experience
- Support the Assistant Operations Manager with day-to-day operational and service-related tasks
- Assist with service intake, scheduling, and coordination of work orders
- Provide administrative support to the service team, including organization and customer follow-up
- Operate point-of-sale systems for service, retail, fuel, and rentals
- Assist customers with general inquiries, bookings, and marina services
- Support waterfront operations as needed, including fueling, basic boat handling, and rental assistance
- Assist with retail sales, inventory organization, and general marina operations
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety across service areas, docks, and public spaces
- Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure a smooth and positive customer experience
- Assist with coordination and execution of on-site events as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills
- Valid Ontario Boating Licence (required)
- Previous marina or boating experience (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Physical ability to kneel, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed
Position Details
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Schedule: Day shifts (8–9 hours) Monday to Friday, with weekends and overtime as needed
Pay: $20-24/hr flexible based on experience
